We review your report before you pay anything. Treatment cannot be guaranteed — it depends on your safety assessment and a decision made together with your clinician.
Being straight with you
What we can’t promise.
We can’t promise to accept every diagnosis. We have to be professionally satisfied with your report before we prescribe — some reports don’t contain enough clinical detail for that. We check first, free, and tell you either way rather than taking your money and finding out later.
We can’t promise treatment. Your safety assessment might show that medication isn’t appropriate, or that something needs sorting out first. If so we’ll explain why and write to your GP.
And we can’t make your GP say yes to shared care. We prepare the request properly and re-send it every year — but the decision is theirs, and some practices decline private providers as a matter of policy. What we can promise is that we won’t discharge you because they said no.
Questions people ask first
Do I really not need another assessment?
Not if your existing report meets the standard we need to prescribe safely. That means a full clinical assessment by a suitably qualified clinician in a regulated service, with the diagnostic criteria applied, developmental history, and impairment across more than one setting. Send it to us and we’ll tell you within 3 working days. If it doesn’t meet that standard, we’ll say so and explain what would — you’re under no obligation.
What if you turn my report down?
You pay nothing. The review is free and there’s no charge either way. We’ll explain exactly what was missing and what you’d need — and you’re free to take that anywhere.
Declining a report is a judgement about what we can safely prescribe on. It isn’t a comment on whether your diagnosis is correct.
What if I cancel and then need to come back?
Talk to us before you cancel — that’s the important bit. Stopping ADHD medication abruptly isn’t safe, so we’ll help you arrange cover first, and we’ll send a summary of your care to whoever takes over.
If you come back within six months and nothing has changed, you can normally restart after a review. Longer than that, or if your health or treatment has changed significantly, we may need to reassess — we’ll tell you what’s involved before you commit to anything.
Is the medication included in the £79?
No. The £79 covers your clinical care — appointments, monitoring, reviews and prescriptions being written. The medication itself is dispensed and charged separately by the pharmacy.
How long until I’m on a stable dose?
Usually 8–10 weeks from your first appointment, across three or four reviews. Some people settle sooner and some need longer. There’s no extra charge if you need more appointments — the monthly price doesn’t change.
Will you actually keep prescribing if my GP refuses?
Yes, for as long as it remains clinically appropriate and you keep up your reviews. That’s the point of the monthly plan — it isn’t a course that ends, it’s ongoing care. We’ll keep re-sending the shared care request each year in case their position changes.
