The short version

  • Cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, as long as your appointment hasn't happened yet.
  • Cancel or move an appointment with at least 48 hours' notice, free of charge.
  • With less notice, or if you miss it, we keep a small fee (£50 for an assessment, £20 for a review) and refund the rest.
  • Once your assessment has happened, the fee can't be refunded, whatever the result.
  • If your report is more than 10 working days late, we give you a £100 credit automatically.
  • Ongoing care has no minimum term. You can stop at any time.
  • Medication is always paid for separately, to the pharmacy.

We provide clinical care, not physical products, so there's nothing to send back. This page explains when you can cancel, when you'll get money back, and how.

It applies to all our services: ADHD assessments, assessment-and-treatment packages, titration, reviews and ongoing prescribing. If our service terms say something different, the service terms apply. None of this affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1Paying for your care

You pay in full when you book, or you can spread the cost with a deposit and two further payments, at no extra cost (see our Payment Plan Terms).

Once you've paid, we'll email your appointment details and a secure link to join.

Medication isn't included in our fees. The pharmacy charges you for it separately.

2Changed your mind?

You have 14 days from booking to cancel for a full refund, as long as your appointment hasn't taken place yet.

If you book an appointment within those 14 days, we'll ask you to confirm that you're happy to go ahead early. Once that appointment has happened, you can't cancel it for a refund.

Tip: want to keep the full 14 days? Book a date more than 14 days away.

3Cancelling or moving an appointment

48 hours' notice or more: no charge. We'll move your appointment or refund you in full, whichever you prefer.

Less than 48 hours' notice, or you don't attend: we keep a small amount to cover the clinician's time we can't fill at short notice, and refund the rest.

AppointmentWe keep
Assessment, or assessment-and-treatment package£50
Titration, extra or annual review£20

This isn't a penalty, just our fair estimate of what the empty slot costs us. If something serious happens, like a medical emergency or bereavement, we may waive it once.

Please let us know as early as you can on 020 8798 0321 or at info@focusgently.com.

4If we need to cancel

If we have to cancel or move your appointment, you choose: the next suitable appointment, or a full refund for that appointment.

If a last-minute cancellation by us leaves you out of pocket, tell us and we'll look into it properly.

5After your assessment

Once your assessment has taken place, the service has been fully provided, so the fee can't be refunded. The only exceptions are where the law requires it, or where we didn't deliver the service as described.

This is the same whether or not you're diagnosed with ADHD. You're paying for a careful professional assessment and a written outcome, not for a particular result.

Why we do it this way: if refunds depended on the result, we'd only be paid when we diagnose ADHD. That would be the wrong incentive. Our clinicians are paid the same whatever the outcome.

6When you get money back

Your clinician stops the assessment

If your clinician decides during the appointment that an ADHD assessment isn't right for you, you pay nothing and get a full refund. You'll still get a written summary with our suggestions. (This doesn't apply if you end the appointment yourself. See section 3.)

Your report is late

We aim to send your report within 10 working days of your final assessment appointment. If we're late, we'll add a £100 credit to your account automatically. The 10 days pause while we're waiting for information we've asked you for.

You think something was missed

Tell us, and your clinician will look at your file again and reply in writing, free of charge. The result may stay the same, but it's a genuine second look. You can still make a complaint (see section 10).

You booked an assessment-and-treatment package

If you're not diagnosed, or treatment isn't right for you, we'll refund or credit the treatment part in full. The assessment part is still payable (see section 5).

You stop a titration pathway early

We'll refund the reviews you haven't had yet, worked out pro rata. Reviews you've already had can't be refunded.

7Stopping ongoing care

There's no minimum term, so you can stop at any time. Reviews you've already had can't be refunded.

Before you stop, talk to us. Stopping ends your prescriptions from us, so make sure someone else, such as your GP through shared care, is ready to take over. That way you won't be left without medication. We'll help you do this safely.

8Payment plans

Our payment plans are run by us, not a lender. You pay a deposit and then two further payments, with no interest and no extra charges. Full details are in our Payment Plan Terms.

  • Cancelling an appointment doesn't automatically cancel your plan, and cancelling your plan doesn't automatically refund what you've paid. Contact us and we'll sort out both together.
  • If you're due a refund, we'll pay back what you've paid to your original card and stop any future payments.
  • Your deposit counts towards the total price and isn't automatically lost. Sections 2 and 3 explain what happens to it if you cancel.
  • If your appointment has already happened and no refund is due, the rest of the balance still needs to be paid.

9How refunds are paid

Once we agree a refund, we'll pay it back to your original payment method within 14 days. If you used a payment plan, see section 8.

Credits, like the late-report credit, go on your account and can be used for any of our services. If you'd rather have the credit paid to you, just ask.

10Not happy?

Please tell us. If you think something clinical was missed, start with a free re-review (section 6). For anything else, contact us directly. You can also use our complaints procedure, and we'll send you a copy if you ask.

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your complaint, you can also tell the Care Quality Commission about your experience. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to care provided with reasonable care and skill, always apply.
