What we won’t promise.
We won’t promise you a diagnosis. An assessment establishes whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. Sometimes the answer is no — and sometimes something else better explains what you’ve been living with, which is worth knowing too. Anyone who guarantees the outcome before assessing you is selling you something other than an assessment.
And we won’t refund you for a “no”. Some services offer that. We think it’s a bad idea: it means a clinic only gets paid when it diagnoses, which is exactly the pressure that shouldn’t exist near this decision. Our clinicians are paid the same either way, and that’s deliberate.
What you’re paying for is a thorough, honest assessment and a clear written answer — whichever way it goes.
Questions people ask first
Can I afford the medication afterwards?
This is the question worth asking before you book, and the honest answer is that it depends on shared care.
Privately, medication is charged by the pharmacy and is the most variable cost. Once you’re stable we prepare a shared care request asking your GP to prescribe on the NHS, which brings it down to the standard prescription charge or nothing if you’re exempt. Some practices decline. If yours does, our £79 a month covers your ongoing clinical care and we keep prescribing — you’d then be paying the pharmacy privately for the medication itself. We’ll talk you through the numbers on your free call before you commit to anything.
Will my employer accept the report?
You receive a full written outcome letter setting out the assessment, the diagnostic criteria applied, the conclusion and the recommendations. It’s yours to keep and to share with whoever you choose — your GP, your employer, occupational health or a university.
We can’t control how an employer responds, but a clear report from a CQC-registered service is the document most workplace adjustment conversations start from.
You’re remote — do I need a clinic near me?
No. The whole process is remote, so you can be assessed from home wherever you are in the UK. No travel, no waiting room, and appointments outside the working day where we can.
Why pay when I could wait for the NHS?
You absolutely can wait, and for some people that’s the right call. But NHS adult ADHD waits often run from many months to several years with no fixed date, and if something is going wrong at work right now, that isn’t a plan. A private assessment buys certainty and speed.
Waiting also costs something that doesn’t appear on any invoice.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can come to us directly — there’s no need to be referred first.
What happens if I’m not diagnosed?
You still receive a full written outcome letter explaining what we found, what we ruled out, and what we’d suggest considering instead. For a lot of people that’s genuinely useful — it closes a question that’s been open for years and points somewhere more productive.
